Runtal Radiators

Runtal Radiators offers energy efficient radiators in a number of forms. Both residential and commercial radiators are durable and can be used with water at a low temperature, significantly reducing energy consumption. They are simple and quiet and can be used as either a radiant alternative or in addition to floor heating.

Nanosolar, a company out of Palo Alto, California aims to reduce both the cost and bulk of traditional photovoltaic solar panels by using a thin film technology to produce an efficient result. They developed a “proprietary process technology that makes it possible to produce 100x thinner solar cells 100x faster.” Could this be the future of solar energy? Check out a video and learn more:

EcoRock

A recent product by Serious Materials is set to launch this year. EcoRock uses 80% less energy than standard drywall. Standard drywall’s main ingredient is gypsum which must be calcined, or super-heated, using coal, oil or natural gas, thus very energy inefficient. An interview with Serious Material’s CEO, Kevin Surace, reveals the company’s “mission to reduce CO2 output by a billion tons per year, three percent of all the CO2 produced by mankind. We can do it because the built environment is the play. 52% of all CO2 comes from building: 40% for heating and cooling buildings, and 12% for construction.” EcoRock contributes to this mission by emitting 80% less CO2 than drywall. It is also fully recyclable.
