I figured it was time to poke some fun at ourselves and our industry. So here a couple jokes to get you through the day.
- How many daylighting consultants does it take to change a light bulb?
None—the sun will be back up in exactly 10 hours.
- How many LEED Accredited Professionals does it take to change a light bulb?
Four—one to tell you how to earn LEED points by changing it, one to change it, one to document the change, and one to deliver the check to the U.S. Green Building Council for certifying the change.
- How many product manufacturers does it take to change a light bulb?

What do we mean by green building?
Buildings of the world consume:
• 40% of the world’s energy & materials
• 25% of the wood harvested
• 17% of our water
The average American house uses:
• 13,127 board feet of lumber
• 6,212 square feet of sheathing
• 2,000 square feet of flooring
In the U.S., buildings account for:
• 36% of total electricity consumption
• 62% of electricity use
